Just a step back a page in this thread for a moment to point something out. Coach used a widely held belief in an apparent attack on my assumed beliefs.

They know it COULDN'T be demonic posession, because they don't believe in it! It's all a matter of belief,not scientific method, or statistics. Just belief. Yet they pass this belief off as science.

I didn't choose this place to discuss these issues, but this is where the discussion is. No one seems to have an opinion on the post Brett started this thread with, and that one does kind of stand alone, but what of it? Change the title of the thread if it's such a big problem.
And we are FAR from concluding that the Jesuits did or did not have anything to do with the public perception of psychology, as opposed to the scientific methods used to support their theories.

I can see a clear reason to maintain this very interesting discussion and trueblue has a good point regarding the original topic.

Since you are doing the moderation Star may I suggest you split this thread into the two components it is made of and then clean out all the irrelevant garbage. The original topic and a new topic please.

I've never done a "split" routine have you ?

Well, not to be technical here, but there is only one of us that needs to calm down, and that one is NOT in moderator role in this thread.

My first thought of splitting the thread came to me back where Cmar first made the suggestion to split it. I hadn't done it before, and so made the choice to speak to what I felt was the rational side of folks.

Possibly, we can lead each other through it Stann. I am always open to new learnin'

I don't feel the need to clear out the garbage, since the second thread is of THEIR choosing. Make sense? They can go at it in a "Go At It" thread.

Someone give me a name for it, and I will attempt to split. The other option is to do a bunch of "hidden content" crap on this one.
