Disclaimer; I am not suggesting Phillipes walk was part of any publicity stunt, or that Phillipe knew anything about 9/11.

But a few things dawned on me whilst I was watching "Man on a wire" documentary the other night.

Of course in this I must assume that Phillipes memory recal is good after all this time, and that he hasn't dramitised anything for dramatic effect in the film, but to be honest he was so meticulous about the whole project I doubt he did that or felt he needed to, the act he performed needs no dramitisation.

Firstly, for those who don't know. Phillipe spent a great deal of time in and around the WTC during and at the end of its construction. Not only did he sneak around the site many times, casing the buildings, but also he and his team literrally stayed overnight in the towers the day before and morning of his highwire walk, they set up a very elaborate rigging system on the upper floors of the unnocupied WTC towers.

The first thing that stuck out to me about his tale, was he described what could only be described as a very eleaborate security presence at the construction site. I certainly understand a security presence around the site, this was afterall the tallest building in the world being constructed. But Phillipe litterally described a guard patrolling floor 104, complete with Walkey Talkey, and said that the guard litteraly stayed on the floor for hours. Same story in the other tower. Now bear in mind this was an empty construction site. Why the security presence? Starting any kind of fire in that site would be pretty tough, plus arson wasn't a credible threat in those days, that was before The Towering Inferno copycat torched the WTC in 1975. If there was such a presence on the upper floors, it must be deduced that there were guards on many or all of the floors, guarding day and night. Why all the security at the upper levels of this completely empty construction site? Seems unprecedented.

Phillipe and some of his team also described hearing a guard coming and trowing themselves under a tarp, which was over a beam which was over an elevator shaft 400M down. Hmm. That just happened to be the express elevator? Maybe it was something else. Or maye it was added to the film for dramatic effect.

Phillipe has always been an invisable man, but I wonder if anyone could get in contact with him, he may have useful information about the state of those buildings during construction. He spent substantial time in them, rode in the elevators a lot, and him and his team spent much time in the upper sections of those towers rigging their wire.

PS I thought it interesting that he states that the most dangerous part of the whole escapade was going down the narrow staircase on the way to the elevator after he was handcuffed--he almost broke his head! (See this in the last video above: beginning about 2:40.)

What I find impossible to believe, knowing what I know now, is how Philip Pettit ever got within 50 feet of the hollow top of the south tower. Notice the 119th floor is missing;

This was no clandestine stunt, this was a well prepared cover story for the world trade center "legend." The same WTC "legend" we have been sold since the beginning; 50,000 plus people, yada, yada, yada,..
